Meet Our Founder
Lorraine Hoyos Kennedy, MD
Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Hoyos is a physician driven by a deep conviction that the best medicine happens in the context of a trusted relationship. She chose the specialty of Family Medicine specifically for its breadth—allowing her to care for the whole family, from newborns to grandparents. This broad training enables her to walk with patients through the highs and lows of life, treating the whole person rather than just a set of isolated symptoms.

She believes that her most important role is not just to prescribe, but to educate and counsel. In a world saturated with confusing, profit-driven health advice, she strives to be a trusted filter—siphoning out the noise to provide clear, evidence-based guidance tailored to your life. She practices true shared decision-making, taking the time to listen to your story, understand your personality, and adapt her care to fit your unique needs.
Her practice style prioritizes proactive over reactive medicine—focusing on the foundations of lifestyle (nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress resilience) to stop illness before it starts. She is dedicated to helping her patients not just survive, but truly flourish.
Whether you are navigating a complex diagnosis or simply trying to stay healthy, Dr. Hoyos leads with humility and expertise, ensuring you never have to walk your health journey alone.

A personal note from Dr. Hoyos
I am a first-generation American born to Colombian and Lebanese parents. The diversity of my upbringing cultivated my lifelong love for delicious, whole foods and gathering people around a table.
I live a very active lifestyle, enjoying weightlifting, yoga, and plenty of hiking. I also love to travel, spending much of my time on the road with my husband, who serves as a Locum Tenens (traveling) Emergency Medicine physician.

When I am not exploring new foods or staying active, I love learning new skills—sewing and gardening are my latest endeavors. You can also find me curling up with a good book or volunteering with my church’s children’s ministry.

While medicine is my vocation, my identity is rooted in much more. First and foremost, I am a Christian. I am also a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a proud dog-mom to two pitbull rescues. My new role as the founder of Raphara Health is infinitely more than a job to me; it is the culmination of decades of prayer and a ministry of service that I do not take for granted.

It would be my privilege to hear your story and partner with you. My prayer is that through our work together, you experience not just healing, but true flourishing.

With joy,
Dr. Hoyos
